inquirer...

wah. we were accepted at the INQUIRER! yeah.

now comes the hard part, to find the right news which would relate for a bigger reader base. hehe.

the other pipz who took the internship course this summer are in the community newspapers... well, quite easy to publish.

if we get lucky and our editors would be impressed, hopefully, a by-line with our names would be sufficient.

imagine, from Batanes to Jolo, an intern's name would be read by more than 40k+ people!
hehe. but that may be a long shot. nothing much is happening here in baguio but I hope to get a scoop this week.

Internship: wows, ahems, and ay agi-s!!!!

This is the closest I could be to experiencing the real world of journalism. Internship!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wahhh. Just a few minutes ago, I, together with Kuya Richard, passed my letter and resume (and a portfolio?) to the Northern Luzon Chief of Phil. Daily Inquirer.

Before passing, I just became so nervous wahaha. me? Nervous? ahem. hehe.

It will be an over-the-top experience to (wait a minute, not yet confirmed) work for one of the premier newspaper organizations in the country. Well, hopefully we will be taken because we are excited and somewhat challenged (wait for the second installment).

By the way, there is an issue regarding this year's internship.
Sir Rolly of PDI only allowed U.P. students to become interns in his bureau. And unfortunately, the word got out last enrollment. Who the hell is that dumb ass who said it all? Ahem, the other schools may just be bitter over not getting the internship in our "turf". hehe. Just kiddin.

SIr Rolly said to drop by tomorrow if we will be accepted in the bureau... I hope.
But there are disadvantages for this venture to PDI.
1. We have a requirement of 2 published works. And if you know the dynamics of this newspaper, it will be as hard as finding space in China.
2. Our supervisor might be one of our instructors who gives the highest grade of 1.75 in even rare occasions. wah. He handled our news writing, investigative reporting, and community journalism classes. (Fortunately, he wasn't my instructor in my investigative reporting class). History tells that the average grade he gives is from 2.0 to 2.5. Now that's a big gap!!
3. The newspaper's reputation seem to be getting into my nerves - nervousness. Just the name alone, the Inquirer carries a distinction of being a very respected news organization (and number 1 in the country too!). When you bring the name "Inquirer", people would look at you as if the gods of journalism blessed you. hehe.
Im just too humble. eheh.

Anyway, let us see if we really are goin to be accepted.

Chao!!

Pleasures of being "delayed"

I could not believe that I still have to stay in the darn UP Baguio much longer than I expected but I have gotten alot of insights because of this somewhat unfortunate case for me (well, I am not the only one in this case).

When I have talked with my fellow delayed batchmates...

Pleasure number 1:

You do not have to rush through the paper work for graduation just like what is now happening with my "on-time" batchmates. Hehe. Many have forgotten about the deadline and almost did not become candidates for graduation, hehe.

When I have discussed this issue with my dad...

Pleasure number 2:

"Take your time... this may be your last in terms of happiness and the so called friendship"

He has a point. He even added that the workplace will be very different and will be inhospitable for newbies. I got his point... hehe. Parties may be less and bndings at night might need be left for awhile. wahhhh.

Pleasure number 3:

The stupid thinking that the world will end if you do not graduate on time... (this myth seem to affrect alot of my friends).

Wahaha... One more stupid question: Will you get a job right then and there if you get to wlk your diploma on time? hehe. I am not bitter but just giving the truth of at times dumb matters.
Not unless you are lucky enough to have a job right away... well good for you. But the reality is only a few will have the chance to have a job after graduation. wahaha.

Pleasure number 4:

I get to bet with my batchmates for who will be even teary eyed will have a graduation bash.

Well, this is fun. Even if they try to stop their eyes from watering because of emotion, it will become obvious after the ceremony... then, jackpot. hehe.

Just to be fair to them, it is fun to walk during our graduation with familiar faces who you wold look at for the (maybe) very last time.

Hehe. Kudos to the new grads of UP's centennial year graduation.

Summer is here!! and its darn hot

I somehow both hate and love summer in alot of different things in life.
I hate it because even Baguio gets hot during this season.
I hate summer because it makes me sweat alot and make me like wet towel.

However, i love summer because it somewhat relaxes my mind to the fact that the summer term will be shorter (i.e. this year's summer will just be 1month and 3 days. cool!!!)
I love this season because the world seems to be lively again... after the joyful christmas.
I love this season because there are many lovely and sexy ladies strutting their stuff either in skimpy clothing or short shorts... guys, you know what I mean.

I especially love this summer because it ushers in the next chapter in my life... careers and jobs. (hopefully, my wife... hehe, mom and dad... I really have to find one already.)

I just do not know why this summer is quite special... I just do not know...

hmmm maybe because I met my crush ever since 2nd year college?
hmmm maybe because I could get a job soon and have my dream gadgets be bought through my own expense?
hmmm maybe because I am just clueless what to do after?
now this is a challenge I need to face...
5 options are bothering me right now:
1. seek for a job.
2. take further studies (maybe a master's degree in Diliman)
3. apply for another scholarship grant to study in Australia (my dream place to be.)
4. stay home and be lazy.
5. [last resort] be a call center agent. (though high paying and great benefits.)

that last one is lucrative but I need to decide.

maybe someday. just someday.
anyone wanna talk or contact me... 09277663421.
please leave your name and a smiley. hehe.
