UP LYF - RELOADED: UPLB / UPB edition 2.5

I just do not know why I used 2.5... hehe.

(here goes the ellipsis...)

- rallies are for these reasons (oh just be honest): true spirit of being UPian; go home and do laundry; get out of that darn classroom; escape from that dreaded L.E.; rally just for the sake of rallying.

- there are departments or offices which have dreadful people: OUR - mng Julie; Lib - the fat lady who just cant finish ranting about people (shut your mouth for once); HRDO - the guy with the eyeglass oversized shirt and annoying voice; Security office - the UP police force (xish, katamaran).

- pinakakawawang college: CAC. well, until December na lng ung kawawa award para sa CAC peeps. pero ang generic ng building natin, ala man lng laban sa SocSci. hehe, sorry for the sour graping :)

- UNWRITTEN CODES and PHENOMENA INSIDE THE CLASS:

1. Being late could either annoy your instructor or be happy because someone will face a fun punishment. wow. :)

2. Be careful at the first day of classes when finding for your room or face embarassment... oh comment na yung mga napahiya!! hahahaha. joke lng. :)

3. Laptops are essential nowadays for presentations and just plain fun in waiting for that perpetually late instructor hehe. Notice the freshies recently, well, TOFI has its ups and downs, ironically.

4. Attendance will diminish until the end of semester with the exception of LEs and finals.

5. Time allotment for tardiness is unfair, period. hheehe. 30 mins for instructors while 15 mins only for students... hwow. Wait for a teacher for 30 mins and you just wasted your time, especially if you only have one class for that day or the class is at the either end of the day like 7 am or 5:30 pm. ahaha.

6. In UPLB, there are classes where if there is no electricity (which is frequent because of NAPOCOR), there will be no classes like those at the Humanities and of course ComSci.
One more thing, bring flashlights or anything to light your blue book whenever your exams at night because even if the lights go out, exams would go on. I have never encountered this in UPB, well not yet.

7. It is just fun to see freshmen having to ask permission to go to the bathroom or stand up to recite... yeah! be the talk of the class. ahahah. joke. :) well, you guys must know it by now. xish.

8. Im out of thoughts on this, just add. ahaha.

- Bureaucracy will make your head spin. From enrollment to borrowing stuff, you will surely be angry. ehehe.

- The library is one of the most inefficient departments... What the hell is the book detector for  when you still have to show the insides of your bag when going out?????? Why does the OPAC have to be so inaccurate??? Why do they love taking their brakes so early that one could incur overdue because the custodian would close his or her section even before cut-off time????? Why do some librarians have to be grumpy??? Do they have customer relation courses??? hmmm, it's up to them to do better and not rant about things that students have complained for eons.
Last, why do we need to have our ID stickers countersigned at the Lib when the OUR could do it themselves?????? argh. I am not lazy but it is just the inefficiency of our bureaucracy.

- On the lighter side, the CRs are havens for gossip, graffiti, and best of all, rumors of who had the biggest uuummmm "waste" in the toilet bowl!!!! whew!!! (Sorry for those who are eating while reading this blog) Don't we have anymore courtesy for good smelling people? ahahah. :)

- Everyone hates the curfew in the campus.

- Sleep deprivation is the common sickness of UPians...

- Globe subscribers dominate UPB... Sun cellular for UPLB.

- Everyone hates the abortion stairs.

- You have to run to national bookstore at SM just for the basic needs... especially ballpens or pencils!!! Can't we just have a small school supply store? A small budget would do.

- Tambayans for the ordinary UPian: UPB- Gale, lobby, mng mane, oble grounds, upper / lower, Lib???. UPLB - freedom park, Baker hall for the sports enthusiasts, SU [Student Union] bldg and ampitheater, Humanities Mcdo, Vega, Rob, Olivarez plaza?, Alabang, Makati (parang palayu ng palayo ah, boring tlga.)

- And on that note, tambay muna kau sa site ko hehehe. :)

UP LYF - RELOADED: UPLB / UPB edition 2.0

Just  a correction... "Do not anger your ever hated teacher because you might become friends in the next few days. hehe."

Moving on.
More things to ponder...

- People who say they have not reviewed are those who get the high scores. Damn.

- UPLB: Classes still on going even if Laguna is under signal number 3. UPB: oh, strong rains (um, extraordinary rains) would suspend classes. By the way, UPLB is a town within a town so autonomy is the game.

- Lunch time: IRRI, which is just in UPLB premises - 3 peso rice (it is so good that one cup would not be enough but one serving would do, that's heavy.)  in their canteen where anyone could eat what the world class facility offers with the extremely cheap rice. duh.
One more place for a budget-minded student - Papu's Siomai... 20 to 25 would do for a hungry stomach via the delicious siomai (its ingredients are  a secret) and rice.
UPB - canteens charge 5 to 10 pesos. yeahoo! a hole in your budget especially if you eat too much.

- "Dungeons" UPLB: Humanities building - basement. UPB: Juan Luna Bldg. 20's specifically at 211 and 212. There are stories of ghosts and a rumored murder in this building.

- "Pamatay" subjects: Math 1 under Sir Rimando, Comm I, II, 10 under Ms Ramos, History 1, 2 under Sir Javar, PI100 under Sir Choi (hehe), and other subjects not mentioned. Feel free to add to these and why at the comment sheet. thanks.

- Nothing so much controversial in UPB except some scandals while UPLB have infamous landmarks - the "sperm" tree, fertility tree, Mt. Makiling.

- Evaluation of instructors and professors: UPLB - 5 questions; UPB - 32++ questions with a darn repetitive questionnaire. Just shade away! Wehw!

- Using the word "lang" when pertaining to money would raise eye brows (pun intended).

- Threes are relief; twos are normal; ones are heavenly and extraordinary. you know what I mean.

- Sit on an organization's tambayan and they will never stop in recruiting you. I do not speak for all but I had that experience which I do not want to discuss. :)

More thoughts on the way.

UP LYF - RELOADED: UPLB / UPB edition

THINGS TO PONDER FROM having to study at UP Baguio and Los Banos.

- Do not make your hated teacher because you might become friends in the next few days. hehe.

- Upper is much cheaper than lower, only UPB peepz would know that.

- It is cheaper to buy blue books at the cooperative canteen, only UPLB peepz would know that, heheheh.

- Our books are mainly photocopies.

- If you have a visitor to the UPB campus, tell him or her not to look at the guard and act naturally so as not to be bothered by these statements, "saan ka pupunta ading?" and "pakiiwan muna ID mo." Wow, hehe, a much different scene in UPLB where anyone could enter freely, that is.

- Gimmikan: UPLB - Rob, Olivarez Plaza, Alabang, or Makati. UPB - SM, Kaffeeklastch, Session, Ayuyang, Manang Mane, Lobby

- Academic life will not exist without the trusty photocopying machines.

- Souvenirs: UPLB - Shapers T-shirts for UP shirts and Buko Pie. UPB - Manang Mane's peanuts, peas, and the oh so good mangga. Oh before I forget, bloody blue books.

- ID stickers cost more than pre-summer 08's fare rates.

- Lines are essential to getting you onto life in UP or else, "hoy, singit!" and rumors would start, hehe.

- No one cares what you wear- old or new, only the socialites would dare comment.

- Rain Water is either a friend or enemy. UPLB- friend: more water for unbathed peepz who toil the heat. UPB- enemy: slippery floors which could be a great scene for Bitoy's Funniest Videos.

- A fun way to scare people, or just play fun of schoolmates who scream, in any campus is to turn off all the lights.

- People love to use the ellipsis (...) I just do not know why... hehe...

And to that note, I'll continue another episode of UP LYF - RELOADED: UPLB / UPB edition. Till the next post! :)

SM and GSIS DO NOT OWN BAGUIO

What the hell...
Im sorry for the phrase but I am so disgusted when I read the news that SM and GSIS were on the joint venture to put up another SM so-called development here in Baguio.
Before we move on, I am not against development but what we need is sustainable and well-thought development... not development in which every land is converted into vertical buildings for the rich.

Moving on, the Baguio Midland Courier's banner was "SM-GSIS joint venture in BCC area to remove 418 trees" < read http://baguiomidlandcourier.com.ph/>. The headline in itself was giving a very wrong message to the people of Baguio.
The proposed site is at the Baguio Convention Center which is under the care of the GSIS...
This tree park has its own story to tell from those who planted it to those who try to protect the few remaining green patches in the city.

SM's move to build a skyrocketing 14-storey atop a mountain is plain appalling. Just look at the skyline and SM looks down at you as if it wants your money more than your pleasure.

The people of Baguio do not need another SM in the midst of the great pine trees. Shall we permit the destruction of more forests for the pockets of greedy businessmen from Manila? Should we allow people to lose water coming from our watersheds and forests (such as the tree park)? Should we be more pleased with "pseudo-jobs" amid the ever growing problem on pollution and traffic? Will we still have clean air to breath once another SM development stands up high upon the people who need it most? Will this so-called development from SM bring real benefits to the city when in fact this will draw more people to Baguio and eat up our scarce resources?
The questions will go on until people would dare do action.

For me? It seems like SM owns Baguio, don't you think?

wahahha. a phone accesory for 650pesos!!

cool, para bang remote control just with the wires.
it is worth 650 and I hope it lasts for a long time na rin... hehe. kuripot ang bwisit. eheh.
ano pa kaya ang magagastos ko sa 650 na yun?
= trip sa KafeeKlatsch hehe.
= gimik sa legarda, sa may red lion or dug out.
= panlaro sa hobbies kong paintball or bowling, missed those games.
= at marami pang iba...

Pero, cool kasi ang walkman phone saka hnd kumpleto ang araw ko kng hindi ako nakapagpakinig sa musika. Hence, my earphones with the walkman logo and remote control. heheh.
Btw, hindi ito advertisement para sa headset na ito!! hehe.

kinda down right now. :(

I do not know but I feel so disgusted and sad with what is happening with my internship.
It seems like the guys at the national desk have a some sort of favoritism. I just do not know.
I have given my reports but nothing gets pass through. I have gievn all i've got and nothing...

Well, hopefully, I get one or two articles be published. Maybe it is not just my time to be in the industry.
I could have a grade that would significantly ruin my chance for the cum laude.

Congrats pala sa mga pipz na nakapagpublish na. mga astig kaung lahat.

God Bless to us all!
