If Sen. Barack Obama made history by being the first African-American to be the Dem's Pres'l Nominee (and potential winner vs John McCain... hehe, just my opinion), Philippine politicians have also made their mark in history by announcing their bid for the 2010 elections.
Both the administration and opposition have lists to make the battle for money-greed-pride.
Let me ask all of you, list down all of the legislation that you have passed and give me a good reason why I should not worry about what food shall I eat if none at all? Why should I not ponder on killing, snatching, robbing people for a living? Why I should not take justice into my hands? Why I should not be complaining right now?
The Filipino people are hungry, sick and, most of the time, angry!
We never passed the generation when men and women in government cannot function without bashing on another person's stand or even his person. We never reached to the point of really having politicians who would stand by their constituents and listen to their concerns. We never had the chance to have our voices be heard because some loud mouthed in the chambers of the two houses of legislation.
Where shall we go now then?
Cannot politicians have the moral dignity and social reponsibility to work for the betterment of the country and not their political aspirations and dubious financial transactions?
We know that another phase of campaigning starts right after the last election... "Campaigning" for the next election.
Guys and gals in the government, 2010 is still two years away.
Do whatever you need to do as duly elected and supposedly trusted members of the society but do not mix your mindset to the next election.
How about us? Ordinaray citizens who, now, do not even know waht to do next with high oil and food prices while you get in your air-conditioned, clean, and gas-gussling PAJERO, BMW, JAGUAR, AUDI, GMC, FORD, and other car names for the rich and corrupt.
Your "well-spent" money could just go to us... simple as that.
It would seem that Filipinos are seen through the "eyes" of Ninoy, Jose Abad Santos, Roxas, and many more of the people who are drawn in our money for their contributions to the country... ironically.
